DOCENTS NEEDED FOR THE MUSEUMS OF LOS GATOS
HISTORIC HOMES TOUR
NOVEMBER 1 & 2, 2008 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Six beautiful, privately owned homes will be open for tours, and we need docents at each home to assist the host and the public. This is an annual event and is quite popular.

Note: there will be a required orientation meeting on October 19 or 20.
Four shifts are available (9 am - 1 pm, and 12 pm - 4 pm) on both Saturday and Sunday.

If you docent you will receive a COMPLIMENTARY TICKET ($30 VALUE).

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM

Volunteers are needed to become Gallery Hosts/Docents in our Art and History Museums.
Would you like to learn more about our local history/and or artists and art?
Are you available for an afternoon a month?
Both Museums are open Wednesday - Sunday, noon to 4pm, except on holidays.
Volunteers are an important asset and valuable resource to the museums
and make a major contribution to our ability to offer quality programs to the community.

Duties would include greeting visitors, sharing information about exhibits,
and handling some merchandise sales.

The Art Museum in the Tait Firehouse

This 1927 Spanish Eclectic former firehouse is designated by the
State Historical Resources Commission and Santa Clara County Point of Historical Interest.
Exhibits change every 4 - 6 weeks throughout the year.


The History Museum in the Forbes Mill Annex

The History Museum at the Forbes Mill Annex is located in the front section of the
Old Mill (built in 1854). The Annex was built in 1880 for additional storage, and is on the National Register of Historic Places and the California State Register of Historic Places.
Exhibits change approximately every six months.
